WHAT ARE NOSES USED FOR?

Narizinhos® syringe adapter is a syringe safety device, which should be used in all situations where nasal washing is recommended by professionals, namely:

- Relief of symptoms associated with upper airway infections such as nasal congestion, difficulty breathing, discomfort

- Prevention of respiratory infections

- Rhinitis

- Sinusitis

- Allergies

Baby Nasal Wash KIT: 6-24 months

Narizinhos® syringe adapter is the first syringe adapter for nasal irrigation manufactured in Portugal, with CE standard and the only one that can be used from birth. Made in Portugal from toxic-free pharmaceutical grade PP, with high resistance and durability.
Its rounded tip and conical design adapt to the end of the nostril, preventing serum backflow and providing protection to the nasal mucosa.
The Narizinhos Nasal Wash Kits include all the material you need for a safe and effective nasal wash.

IN WHICH POSITION SHOULD WASHING BE CARRIED OUT?

The ideal position for performing nasal washing is not unanimous among the scientific community. In small babies (until they acquire a sitting position) the most frequently recommended position is with the baby lying with the head on one side. In this case, the serum is introduced into the nostril at the top. NEVER WASH WITH THE CHILD FACING UP, WITH THE HEAD FACING UP.

In babies and older children, the most frequently used position is with the child sitting. In this case, you can sit the child on your lap. With one hand, hold the child's chin to stabilize and prevent them from tilting their head back. With the other hand, pour the contents of the syringe.
For children over 2 years old, you can place the child in front of the sink, with their head slightly tilted forward and their mouth open. Carry out washing as described previously.

In ADULTS, washing is carried out in a standing position with the head slightly lateralized.

Sterilize the adapter in boiling water before first use (max 5min) and whenever necessary.

HOW TO WASH BABIES/CHILDREN?

The child must be calm before starting the procedure. The materials for washing must be prepared in advance.

1- Wash your hands

2- Fill the sterile syringes with physiological soil (The temperature of the serum should be close to body temperature, around 37 degrees is recommended)

3- Place the Narizinhos adapter on the end of the syringe

4- Prepare a towel and compresses

The serum insertion movement must be regular and continuous with a duration of approximately 1-2ml per second. For a syringe with 6ml of serum, you must introduce the serum in a continuous movement lasting 3s.

5- Place the baby in the position in which you intend to wash and wrap him with the towel

6- Adapt the Narizinhos adapter very well to the nostril and introduce the serum in a continuous and smooth movement, without interruptions. The serum must be introduced continuously and without exerting too much pressure.

7- Repeat the process in the other nostril.
